Christmas Nativity Splendid Pyramid 3Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This stained glass window, design by Mary Jane Harris, is a perfect choice for my religious set of Christmas cards.

I love making step by step decoupage and this one is so easy and quick and fits together perfectly. I made 2 copies of the sheet.

The 120gsm white copy I used for the main card front and the second 80gsm copy I used the main image from this for the insert.

I used 3 backing sheets. The first is a white cut at 12.75 x 9cm, the edges of which have been coloured with a bronze metallic pen.

The next 2 backing sheets each have their edges defined with the bronze pen.

The burgundy backing sheet is cut at 14 x 10cm and the blue snowflake backing sheet is cut at 14.75 x 11cm.

The main image is attached to the smallest of the backing sheets using D.S. tape and then each of the backings sheets are attached using the same tape.

The white scallop 7” x 5” card is a previous purchase, from craftsuprint and I have attached the topper onto the card front.

I used stars and white glitter glue to enhance the light source area which is the star representing the Star of Bethlehem.

I had previously faded the blue snowflake paper across that corner to highlight it and make it appear lighter.

I used a silver and gold glitter peel off and a red peel off to complete the embellishments. I then finished the decoupage using padded D.S. squares. To make the insert I used a plain white copy paper and attached the 80gsm copy of the main image on the left hand side and a religious verse from the free verses section, written by Janyce Cotterill.

It is a perfect choice for this card. I am thrilled with the outcome and will be able to use this design many times. I have made an envelope for this card using the instructions from my tutorial Christmas Card Envelope 2. Thank you, Mary Jane I love this design, I am sending you a hug. Pamela Horton.
