This is a very easy step by step card to make from the designer, Ceredwyn Macrae. I found it really quick and easy to complete the step by step, by using small padded D.S. squares. I had printed the sheet provided onto 200sm white card. I cut out all the elements, and after finishing the scene, I made a burgundy backing sheet which measures, 13 x 9.25 c. I used a silver ribbon, and a very fine point permanent black pen to copy the dots along the ribbon, and used D.S. tape to attach this to the front of the burgundy backing sheet, matching the existing position of the ribbon on the topper. I used padded tape to attach the topper to this backing sheet. I made a second backing sheet from a Christmas print in my stock. It has a burgundy coloured section at the lower half, which gives the card front, the appearance of more depth and dimension. Next time I make this card, I will use the same technique by using a burgundy card over the lower section of the Christmas print, as I really like the look. This backing sheet measures 14cm x 10cm, which is an excellent size for posting. I attached this to the burgundy coloured backing sheet with padded D.S. tape, and wrapped the ribbon around the back and attached it with D.S. tape. I used power tape to attach this completed topper to the front of a purchased Silver card. This card front measures, 14.5 x 10.5cm. I used one of the blank sentiment labels and coloured the edges with a burgundy coloured pen, and backed it with the same burgundy coloured paper as I have used t for the backing sheet.. I cut this small backing sheet at 4x 2.5 cm and made a 3 section concertina fold. I hand wrote the sentiment, and attached the sentiment to the outside of the mountain fold and used D.S. tape to attach the back section of the valley fold to the card front. I have taken a side view photograph of this simple method of attaching a sentiment. It works wonders for a pop up surprise, particularly on greeting cards for children. As this card is destined for a young child, who has a black cat, I have made the insert rather comical, and left a blank to be able to write my own personal greeting. And there is no prize for guessing what we have been hearing from those tender lips.
This is a really lovely card, and perfect for my particular use, so thank you Ceredwyn for another quick and easy winner.
