LUNCH WITH MOTHER OR FRIENDSCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThis is such a delightful scene of young ladies out for the day and is absolutely perfect as a birthday greeting topper for my Granddaughter who is able to celebrate her 19th after missing the opportunity for the right to passage 18th celebration last year.
I printed the main image twice each onto 2 sheets of A4 white satin finished photo paper. I used one of the sheets to cut out both the main images retaining both the burnt orange frames on one copy, keeping this to use as the main backing sheet and removing the outer frame from the second.
Using padded D.S. tape, I attached the smaller framed image.
I used one of the copies of the main image from the second sheet to remove both the burnt orange frames and retaining the window, the ladies, the table and the dog and then used padded D.S. tape to attach this to the 2 parts of the prepared topper.
I cut out the smaller matching elements, using silicone glue to attach them. The blonde lady’s black skirt has a white blemish in the element on the sheet provided, so I cut away that piece of the skirt and it actually gave the jacket a better dimension.
I used the darker haired lady from another copy from the original 2 copies to attach as part of the decoupage.
The smaller element provided does not match, as the lady is looking the other way and the flowers are on the other side.
This was not a problem as I was able to use the extra copy of the blonde lady to add more elements to complete the decoupage.
I set this aside to allow the silicone to set and made the main card using a busy, small bright colourful watercolour floral print, which I printed onto both sides of the 170gsm white satin finished photo paper.
Cut it at28x14cm and scored and folded it before attaching the 2 insert sections provided. As I had spent some time making the decoupage it was wonderful to be able to use the matching 2 pieces of insert.
I used the blank insert to write my special greetings.
I completed the topper by wrapping the ribbon Tails around to the back of the burnt orange backing sheet and used D.S. red power tape to attach the completed decoupaged topper.
As this is for interstate mailing, I did not attach a bow to this finished card but intend to on any future cards I make from this sheet provided.
I have used the extra small images, using the same background floral and different coloured backing papers for each one, to make gift cards and some gift tags and kept the discarded larger frames to use on other greeting cards as insert frames.
The extra non matching lady I attached to the back of the main card, where I write the web site logo for this site and my name as the maker of the card.
Thank you, Oma, for offering this for purchase, I am delighted with the outcome. Pamela Horton.
