Layered Christmas - Nativity Shaped 3
A kit making a layered card.
Based on a traditional card format, the card is made of the back, and two overlapping card fronts. When closed the card forms the complete image. When opened it forms an almost 3D effect.
A seasonal cluster is positioned on one of the pieces for you to decoupage should you wish. The individual pieces of the cluster are supplied for this purpose. The card works with just one layer of the whole cluster for speed.
The kit includes the card back, card left front, card right front, decoupage elements.
Some card fronts are positioned on the sheets to allow for a 'hinge' to be cut enabling attachment to the card back. A tutorial has been uploaded to explain this further. Other variations need a valley fold on the card fronts to attach to the card back.
One of a series of Layered Christmas cards.
Grufbears CraftsLayered Christmas Series - Shaped edge cards TutorialFor example:As this example shows, it has shaped edges on the left and right, so a tab as used on the straight edged cards is not really possible.
However, on the kit images a very light gray image is on the right of the card giving a straight edge on that side.
This allows for a hinge allowance to be left to fold and stick to the card back.
The other card front would need a valley fold so the resultant tab can be stuck to the card back. if you do not want this straight edge on the card front right side, you will hale to trim the other card front as show in the following images:
