I made this selection of colourful birthday cards using the Birthday Animals 2 - Mini Kit

This is a lovely versatile kit as it includes several different animal toppers, so I decided to make a selection of cards in different sizes and styles rather than using the same layout for each one.

I printed the sheets onto 220gsm card and carefully cut out the toppers, sentiments and additional embellishments.

For each card I chose a topper and arranged it with the coordinating backing panels and borders supplied in the kit. The collection includes some really fun birthday designs featuring a horse, cat, donkey, colourful parrots and a puppy, all surrounded by balloons, presents and cheerful birthday details.

I used foam pads to add some of the extra elements and embellishments, giving the finished cards more depth and dimension. On some of the designs I also added one of the included sentiments to complete the card.

Because there are several topper choices in the kit, it was great fun being able to make each card slightly differently. Some were made on standard square white card blanks, while others worked really well on scalloped-edge cards.

I love the variety in this kit. The bright colours and fun animal images make the cards suitable for lots of different ages and recipients, and you can get several very different finished cards from the one mini kit.
