Baby Boy Explosion Box Completed by Margaret McCartney

I printed the design onto good quality 260gsm photographic paper and cut it out. I joined the sides of the box to the base as instructed using strong double sided tape. I attached the inside panels to the sides of the box using double sided tape.

I attached the inside bottom panel to the box using double sided tape. I added the outside bottom panel the same way and this covers the tabs of the sides where joined to the bottom of the box.

I then assembled the pop up elements using silicone glue and this allows you to slide them into place with the reverse image on the back.

When this was dry I attached the tabs to the inside bottom panel using strong double sided tape. I then added the circles to each inside panel and the baby elements to these using double sided tape. I assembled the lid of the box using strong double sided tape.

I added the flower to the top and more circles and baby elements to each outside panel using double sided tape.

I still have one or two wee things to finish off and decide what greeting to use. I found it easier to print some of the pages of the design after rotating them 90 degrees, so printing the bottom of the page first.

My printer seemed to cut off the top of the page and this is why I had to print them bottom of the page first.

A lovely box when finished and could also hold a small gift for the new baby.
