Slider-easel - Birthday Cupcake BlueCompleted by Shelagh E Osborn Wright
OccasionI printed the envelope parts on 160g paper, trimmed, scored, folded and made up following the tutorial using DST on the flaps and fixing the parts together.
The decoupage was printed on glossy photo paper and the other sheets on white 250g card with a slight sparkle in it, which catches the light.
I assembled the easel slider after consulting the tutorial, where it is all very well explained with illustrations in PDF file.
It's not hard to do and the cutting out is straightforward, no fiddly bits!
After cutting where shown, The end strip of the "slide" mechanism is glued to the end of the Happy Birthday insert and the outside edges carefully glued to the top of the folded base card, so the easel pops up when the insert is pulled.
The reinforcement circle is cut out and half glued to the semicircle on the insert then folded under. The main cupcake image was attached with DST to the easel front and decoupage was added with 2mm foam.
To complete the card I added yellow stickles to the candle "flames" and pale blue stickles to the letters. The lovely bright blues require very little else. An ingenious design that works to great effect and looks stunning when the insert is pulled out! Love the design.
