Gingerbread Cookie Hanging Birdhouse/treat Box Decoration
This delightful hanging birdhouse is sure to please any recipient. With full colour instructions included to take you step by step. The roof has been designed so you can make it a treat box, instead of a piece of home decor. You don't have to have the bottom dangling decorations. You could also create a card as I have including a backing paper in each kit in this range.
This birdhouse has a yummy gingerbread cookie effect. Utterly charming, this will make a stunning Christmas decoration. There are lots of yummy gingerbread cookie shapes to decorate this birdhouse, the children will love it.
Everything is included all you need is 2 pieces of acetate, ribbon or twine and wet glue. You can add your own embellishments. The creativity is up to, I have just provided the elements.

I printed the design onto quality matte cardstock, cut the pieces out and assembled the birdhouse step by step, following the detailed instructions.
Deciding where to put various pieces is fun, as is decorating the 'tail' of the piece.
I used red gingham ribbon and different embellishments (beads, resin holly bits, a glitter heart and a star) along with the bird.
I attached the bird with fine wire to the ribbon knot, using eyelets as suggested on the bird itself for strength.
I chose the treat box option, so the lid lifts on one side to add something special for the recipient.
You can add more embellishments if you like, depending on where you wish to hang it. Against my Christmas tree, as shown here, less is more! A clearer photo without the background is in my gallery. The cutting out of the pieces for this design is time-consuming, but the assembly is straightforward and the instructions are very clear.
This would make a wonderful present for someone, that would hopefully be recycled year after year at Christmas.
The main body of the birdhouse was printed on to 250gsm card and the flower embellishments on to satin photo paper. The birdhouse was assembled using wet glue. The flower embellishments, leaves and branches were attached to the bird house using glue gel. The bird was attached to the perch using wet glue. The hanging embellishments were attached to the bakers twine using wet glue. Ribbon was added to the bakers twine.
