Vintage Violets Double Spring Fold Card KitCompleted by Peggy Stogdill
OccasionI printed everything on matte photo paper except the sheet with the pyramage/decoupage-I used a lovely semi-gloss paper for that.
Also, I printed the backing paper separately since my photo paper is a bit lightweight and I wanted to back the spring mechanisms and the main floral images with a second sheet to make them sturdier-plus the card is "springier" with a heavier paper (I rough cut the items and used a glue stick to attach them to the backing, let them dry well, then cut them out).
I assembled the card as in the tutorial, but used silicone gel for the layers and sandwiched a border I punched from a Graphic 45 vintage violet paper between the main card layers before taping it closed with dst.
I added a few lavender pearls and some scrunchy, distressed vintage-look ribbon weaving loosely through the design (attached invisibly with dst).
The matching envelope was assembled with dst and is roomy enough to accommodate the added border. This is one of my favorite cards EVER!!
