WOMAN OF THE YEAR POST-IT EASEL CARDCompleted by Donna Ritchie
OccasionI am making 2 of these - 1 for each of my sisters, using their favourite colour for the pad and pen. The included instructions are very clear and make the construction of the note pad and the matching presentation box very easy. There is very little fussy cutting required and that is simple shapes - the lady and the flowers on the box.
I printed the design, with my chosen topper, on matte photo paper, scored where marked and cut out the pieces. I used 2mm foam to add the flowers to the top of the box BEFORE I constructed it - always easier to add things to a flat surface. The top and bottom fit together nicely.
I added all parts of my lady to the easel topper then added DST to the folded part of the base. I lined up my topper and pressed down - this reduces the chance of adding adhesive in the wrong place, if you add it to the topper.
I felt that the ribbon for the pen would get the most wear so I stuck a piece of off cut photo paper behind it before cutting the hole for the ribbon. I pulled the ribbon through, measured that my pen would fit and used DST to stick the ribbon ends behind this piece. I then flat stuck this to the card base.
I folded my chosen band around the post-it notes and then flat stuck the bundle to the space on the base.
A beautiful gift was now finished and ready to give.
