I purchased this set of double stripes, designed by Debra Laraway, to keep on hand for the bold backing sheet, I am so often missing when I need to have to hand the special point of difference for a special project.
To day I have uploaded two birthday greeting cards using number 1 for one of the cards and number 7 for the second card.
I printed the sheets provided from the set onto both sides of white A4 satin finished 170gsm photo paper. I cut each sheet to measure 28x14cm, then scored and folded them in an easel situation, as I wanted the stripes to be visible as vertical stripes.
I kept the small off cuts to use to make frames which I have used as part of the inserts for each card.
I also used smaller pieces as backing for the sentiments.
I chose the shades, number 1 and number 7, as both cards depict the same golfing theme, which is a design using a pop-up diamond image of a golfer, a design by Diana Hutchinson, cup70565_13, and the blue and green backing and background shades used in the image, I have attempted to emulate.
I have also used the paler shades of blue for the first card and green for the second card from the original stripe patterns to use as the main insert sheets.
Thank you, Debra, I am going to spend some time looking through your work as these background, backing sheets really work for me.
