CATS - Looking out the Window Completed by firstfloorflat
OccasionI've made two cards from this kit!
CARD 1 - PAWS FOR THOUGHT.
This is the window card - two views, showing the window partially open, then a full close-up. (Instructions for this are free with the kit).
I used the A4 lace background (in the kit) cut to size, then glued to my card front.
Next, I prepared the cat picture with the window halves glued into position on top (I used a glue stick) and glued the Utter PURR-fection sentiment inside. I've glued the windows to leave the slightest gap in the middle, which shows there's something underneath when opened (see pic 2) plus you don't need a closure! (Tip: score where you want to fold the windows open, for a neater finish).
I used silicon glue to fix two strips of real lace across the card, positioned so they'd show behind my cat picture. I placed the Paws for Thought sentiment with the top edge tucked just under the lace.
Finally, silicon glue to attch a bit of bling! (Couldn't resist).
CARD 2 - CAT-IT-UDE
This has a Shabby Chic feel. I used two pieces of watercolour paper from my sketch pad as a card base, and used a big eyed needle to thread sari ribbon through the holes to connect the pieces. A tiny dab of glue fixed the ends of the ribbon at the ends.
Next, a layer of lace and then a torn piece of the A4 lace background paper. I layered another piece of lace on top of this, then the main image.
Next, two sequin motifs, the 'CAT-it-tude' sentiment (also layered on a scrap of lace) then the cat, all stuck down using silicon glue for dimension.
For the inside of the card, I glued on the image (in the kit, and left blank for your own message) and decoupaged the lace curtain piece (supplied separately for those who want to decoupage ). Again, everything stuck down with silicon glue for dimension.
Finally, I layered the sentiment onto more lace.
