Gingerbread House Merry Christmas Photo Frame Pin Ornament Pattern Printable

Gingerbread House Tabletop Picture Frame Tree Ornament Place Card Or Favor For 1 1/2 Inch by 2 1/2 Inch Photo, with Merry Christmas in my fabric font.

Imagine making a gingerbread house? Well, I made a gingerbread house ...printable frame pin ornament. This house facade has a house shape made of gingerbread "color", with a faux marshmallow snowman, with imaginary pretzel twig arms, and step rails, imaginary chocolate bar side lights, gingerbread steps, and the glistening aqua blue frosting icing piping the words, "Merry Christmas" in my fabric font, created for my business logo for Fabricated Frames at http://fabricatedframes.com. simulated lengths of fabric, line art drawn to form letters, and I also have numbers, the alphabet, and a lot of word art, using the fabric font.

The video tutorial is on Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWkMfgcLprE and is one of the video tutorials in my store, which also can be used with the sister pattern to this printable, at https://www.craftsuprint.com/card-making/keepsakes/christmas-ornaments/gingerbread-house-happy-holidays-photo-frame-pin-ornament-pattern-printable.cfm , just click on the "video" tab on the "Merry Christmas" Gingerbread House Frame Pin Ornament printable in Card Making -> Keepsakes..

1 A4 size sheet printable

With my frames and ornaments, the front and backs have designs. This frame's easel back and leg have the same design printed, so that you see the design all around!

My father is a realtor, and he helped design the house shape kitchen potholder oven mitt hot pad that I make and offer a pattern here at https://www.craftsuprint.com/knitting/needlework/various-needlework/sewing-patterns-2-sizes-to-make-house-shape-kitchen-potholder-oven-mitts.cfm for $3 on CuP in needlework, in my sewing patterns or kitchen sewing pattern category, with a pocket panel, available in designs to print onto washable inkjet fabric. So, I took the pattern and shrunk it, to turn it into a tabletop frame ornament. This will also available as a "house of cards" or "card of house" printable card, and other printable sheet crafts, with other designs to print, to fit inside the house shape panel, and parts.

Can laminate to coat and protect the paper. There is a photo safe / acid free contact paper by Con-Tact, shelf lining, sold on their site, 18 inches wide by 20 feet, which yields enough for about 22 sheets of frame ornaments, or use acid free / photo safe Scotch self laminating sheets, or if you have a laminating machine, you can use that.

If you choose to print this design onto washable inkjet printer fabric, the frame is made to be washable, if using strong enough glue. Gorilla Glue makes a fast drying, strong fabric glue. Iron a piece of Therm o Web HeatNBond Ultrahold to the back of the sheet, before cutting out the panels - Ultrahold will help seal the holes, keeping them from fraying, as well as helping the frame keep its shape and help the frame structure stand. Ultrahold is sold on Amazon, Barnyarns, Hobbycrafts, Walmart, Michaels, Joann.com, and thermowebonline.com Printed Treasures brand washable inkjet fabric is sold on Amazon, Walmart, Joann Fabrics, and online.

The frame also turns into an ornament, even with the strut leg on the back!

The strut leg can be removable, interchangeable, with a metal brooch pin back 1 1/4" long, that is also removable / interchangeable - if you use Velcro or hook & loop, sticky back may be best, to connect the top of the strut leg to the easel back, making sure that the designs align, when doing so. then with the ribbon connecting the strut leg to the easel back at the bottom right corners, instead of tucking the ribbon inside the layers at both ends, you'd add 2 inches to the ribbon tail extending past the frame's bottom under it, pitching the leg out where it will stand on it's on, and extend the ribbon tail 2 inches. Snip then fold ribbon tail in twice, and add Velcro / hook & loop tabs to the bottom right corner easel back and to the ribbon tail folded in twice, so that it stands up and against the easel back right bottom corner.

You can hanging this on a tree, an ornament tree, as a gift tag, door or drawer hanger, wear as a name badge, hang as a pendant, use as an event favor, housewarming gift, give to someone who is a realtor, agent, estate agent, builder, carpenter, mason, contractor, architect, or interior design ...or a baker!

Can be made washable, if using washable, inkjet fabric, backed with Therm o Web HeatnBond interfacing, and can be sewn, stitch slowly, use a heavy duty machine needle such as 100/16 or 110/18 size needle, and long stitch lengths.

Pattern with 6 panels:

1- Front of frame with design, panel called Frame Front Border

2- Panel 2 - labeled "2": - 2nd FFB or 2nd Frame Front Border panel - goes behind front, is connected to panel 3 with ribbon through hole punched circles

3- Panel 3 - labeled "3" - inside Easel Back or Frame Middle - connected to panel 2, with ribbon thread through 7 circles hole punched, to make photo pocket inside, plus 2 more circles to hole punch

4- Easel Back - back of frame has 2 circles to hole punch, for threading ribbon through, to hang as an ornament, has 2 strut leg panels connected at their top, pitched out to stand the frame

5 & 6 - strut leg panels, front design, back facing in to easel back

Instructions:

Cut out 6 panels

Cut away and into corners along lines provided

Fold flaps under, use hot glue or scrapbook tape, or scrapbook adhesive

Hole punch all circles shown

On panels 2 & 3, connect them to make the photo pocket, print sides facing each other, by taking 1/8" or 3 mm wide ribbon 2 feet or 2/3 meter long, feed through the 7 u shaped, or 3 sided line of holes, in both directions, use a straight pin or safety pin to push through if need help doing do, knot and glue down on both sides, snip excess ribbon tails

Assemble panels - front on top of panel 2, easel back on top of panel 3 - make sure to leave an opening at the top between panels 2 & 3 for the photo opening - if not having removable strut leg, leave a space on the bottom right corner between the easel back and 3rd panel, to tuck ribbon in later.

For strut leg, cut a piece of clear vinyl or sheet protector page, or even felt or fleece, if making a fabric washable inkjet print fabric printable frame ornament, cut it to the size of the strut leg, 5 sided piece, put that aside, after cutting out panels and trim excess corners, split the tops from the bottoms along the lines provided in the middle, fold under flaps and glue down

Once the tops and bottoms are cut and flaps glued down, take the piece of strut leg, trim to the shape of the strut leg "before" the split, with flaps trimmed away, with the "spacer" before split and folded under - basically it will look like the strut leg without the flaps, and before split in to, including the "spacer", so it should be the full shape of the strut leg

Place back strut legs face down, place clear vinyl or clear sheet protector strut leg piece over the top & bottom strut leg panels facing down, so that the clear piece (or felt / fleece strut leg piece), fits inside the 2 strut leg top and bottom pieces, with the clear piece or fabric piece exposed toward the center - this spacer piece allows for the strut leg to bend

Place front strut legs on top of clear or fabric strut leg piece

Add 1" or 2.5 cm wide ribbon, 9 inches or 23 cm long, take one ribbon tail end and place along right bottom vertical side inside the strut leg and glue down

Glue bottom corners of ribbon & strut leg pieces cleanly

Can hot glue or use Velcro / hook & loop to connect top of strut leg pieces to the easel back, making sure the print designs match up, or align

Stand frame, and place ribbon tail extending from bottom of strut leg panels out and under the frame, in front of the frame on the bottom. Trim to about 2 inches in front of the frame, Pin or tape gently where the ribbon meets the bottom of the frame, where it will stand on its own. Tuck ribbon inside at the bottom corner, between the easel back and panel 3, and glue.

If having removable strut leg, refer to instructions above start of "Instructions".

Thank you!
