I love to make iris design cards and this was no exception. It was quite a tricky card at the beginning, but it was definately worth the time and effort.

I printed and cut out the template then chose a very light pink card as my base. I then centred the template on the pink card and drew around it with a pencil.

I cut along the pencil lines with a blade, took out the centre, then replaced it with the original template which had the iris design on it.

Cutting out the head and the v of the neck was really tricky, but I worked out that by cutting out a piece of paper to a similar shape and then cutting it down slowly until it eventually matched, was the easiest way to do it.

I put the piece of pink base card between the arm and the body back in, otherwise there would have been a gap and it wouldn't look right.

Adding the arms and the top of the dress was really tricky because the v of the neck was loose at that point and if it had slipped then the final result would not look right.

after the top part of the image was completed and the blue waist line was added, the rest of the dress was quite easy.

I used 1 inch strips of paper (folded in half) to follow the iris pattern until the dress was complete. I then put a small piece of double sided tape to the head and put a piece of brown card over it to form the hair. I then taped it down to secure it more and added a few more pieces of tape to the rest of the papers to ensure that they were all secure.

When I turned the pink base card over to see the finished result, I was really happy with it.

I then layered the whole thing to a base card and added the four corners which I cut out using a die cut. I also cut out the sentiment using a die, and attached them using a wet glue.

I absolutely love the finished result and will definately use this template again.... Especially as I know the next one will be completely different, as with all iris patterns.

I would like to thank the designer for selling this pattern on CUP, and I can't wait to try another one :) Thank you xxx
