Insert to Paris is always a good idea .Completed by Stefanie Mohrmann
OccasionThis is "only" the insert to "Beautiful in Paris" and I thought "Wow! This would make a beautiful card all by itself!"
I resized the file to fit onto a 130x130 mm card, which happens to be about the size of a 5x5" card.
I printed the main design three times onto glossy photo paper.
I cut off just the beige/golden rim on the bottom and both the beige/golden and the creme on the middle layer, then cut the top layer to fit the lace layer on the printout.
For the top layer, I cut around the edge that marks the bottom of the Eiffel tower.
I also printed just a portion of the main design where the butterflies are in two sizes and cut those out.
I swished all layers across a stamping pad just to colour the cutting edges, no blending, since glossy paper won't cooperate.
I glued the bottom layer on flat and raised the middle and top layer using foam tape.
I then stuck on the main butterflies using 1mm foam pads to the inside of the card and 2 mm foam pads on the outside to cover the distance the foam tape created.
Finally, I rummaged through my sticker box and found this 3D sticker of a mirror complete with a sentiment, bow and rhinestone which was a perfect fit for me.
I mounted the result onto a beige shimmer card that matched the colours very subtly.
Since I liked the result a lot, I made a second version with the butterflies flying across the card, mounting everything onto a rose coloured shimmer card.
