Butterfly Blank 7x7ins InsertCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I purchased this insert because it matches the previous purchase of cup878151_719, also designed by Sandra Carise. I love decoupage and I have used some of the elements from this previous purchase as embellishments for the insert I used for that card.

If like me you enjoy the step by step method and decoupage generally, I highly recommend both these cup items.

I will be able to use the insert as provided for many cards in the future. I plan to alter the size so that I can print my verses on the wood panelling which sits behind.

However for this card I have left that section blank as I plan to hand write my personal greeting on that right hand section.

The fact that I was able to use the insert with the previous purchase made the completed card have more of a professional appearance.

I printed the insert sheet supplied on an A4 copy paper sheet and used the scale 8.4 x 12.9cm to achieve a finished square of 10.5cm for the actual image.

The main pink card is cut at 26 x 13cm and I have scored and fold it. I used the mice and flowers from the previous purchase to keep within the theme of the main card.

The tiny mouse on the insert image is kissing a butterfly and the little mouse on the left hand side is holding up a flower to tie in with the verse I have written which you are welcome to use.

The ribbon is threaded through from the inside to the outside using 2 single holes punched close to the centre but on the card front.

The bow is tied on the outside of the card front, and an extra length of the same ribbon is slid under the flat of the ribbon on the inside of the card and a simple knot tied with the tails hanging down.

I have used the outside frame of the original card front on the left hand side, or if you wish make 2 copies of the insert and use the frame from one of them.

Any floral embellishment will suit this insert, and adding more butterflies will still keep to the theme of the insert.

I already have planned 2 or 3 more to make as main cards and inserts. Enjoy the fun like II have. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
