RED SQUIRREL INSERTS: 2 With Verse, One Blank, All Approx 5x3, and With Commercial UseCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionYou will notice that I have used the same description here as I have in the description for the 2 main cards, I have made from this cute Squirrel design.
I have always enjoyed making greeting cards from the delightful art work that Clare offers for purchase, there is always the ability to use the designs for such a variety of occasions, and the flexibility of the style covers so many age groups.
I have used most of the 2 sheets I have printed, as I have been able to use the insert sheet along with the main design sheet, to complete these 2 greeting cards.
The main element on the first sheet I have used as a greeting card to send to my 101 year old uncle, as he is in care, and send something in the mail almost every week, and he loves all creatures large and small.
I found a photo of a large tree with a hollow in the trunk, and used this to sit one of the squirrel images into the hole and the full image of the squirrel holding the acorn beside the trunk.
I have feathered their hair using tiny scissor cuts and roughing the edges with the blades of the tiny scissors.
The 11.75x 9.25cm black and white spot backing sheet, is attached to a 13.5 x 10cm burnt orange textured backing sheet and I have used the soft orange satin ribbon to wrap around the 2 backing sheets before attaching the backing sheet to the 15x10.5cm apricot card front using D.S. tape.
I added the gold peel off strips to all 4 sides and the blank sentiment in the vertical position onto the ribbon and then attached the letters to make the sentiment.
To complete the insert, I cut the strips from the original left over black and white spot backing sheet and added the blank verse space from the insert sheet and hand wrote my own greeting.
I have also attached one of the sentiments from the main sheet.
To make the thank you card I have used the same apricot ribbon and the same burnt orange card cut at 15 x 10 cm and then scored and folded it before wrapping the ribbon horizontally across the front and back and securing the completed ribbon to finish on the right, inside panel, in the position where I planned to attach the insert page.
I added the bow to the outside and the black and white spot strips to the inside. Thank you, Clare for both these sheets, and the lovely verse. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
