Flowers and Butterfly Fan
a fan to decoupage with butterfly

This is a remake of a card design I had purchased 22nd. November, 2013 and I have had a request for this card, so thought I would revamp the last image I had made way back then.
I have used a bronze toned satin finished 15 x 10.5 cm card as the main card. To this card front I have attached fine line dark blue peel off strips to all edges. I printed the sheet provided twice onto the one A4 good quality white light card and cut out the main image.
I used 2 silver 11cm doilies to attach to the back using my glue tape roller, moving the scallops to match and trimming the excess very close to the edges, leaving a smidge of the silver exposed along the bottom straight edge of the fan.
I traced this shape and transferred this onto the back of the gold ridged textured card, then redrew around the tracing adding 2cm all around before cutting out this gold shape.
I attached padded D.S. squares to the straight edges of the fan and in a semi- circle ½ way up the body of the fan, then attached the gold image to the back of the fan and silver doily font.
This means that the top of the fan is sitting out from the gold backing which gives more dimension to the finished topper.
I then cut out the smaller main image to attach to the card front using D.S. tape.
I used my skewer tool to poke a hole on the dark blue spot and attached the pearl and dark blue split pin.
I have used D.S. Tape to attach this topper to the card front.
I used gold glitter dust glue and a fine soft brush to lightly coat the panels of the fan and while this was still wet sprinkled very tiny glitter spots, shaking off and reserving the excess and putting this aside while I cut out three of the butterflies and attached them to the gold card before attaching them to the now dried card front, then dusted them lightly with the gold glue dust.
I added the peel off sentiment onto the same gold card and attached this to the card front.
For the insert I have used the optional verse from Clare walker’s, cup858689_79993, Butterfly Bush Floral Insert to attach to cup1011057_66, Filligree Butterflies, background sheet, a design by Kristin Finigan, cut at 21x15cm and attached this insert, using my glue roller tape.
I have added the same blue peel off strips around the edges of the verse. I have reprinted the sheet provided into wallet size so that I can make some gift cards and have used one of the fans and a butterfly, in this size, as extra embellishments.
I love the finished result and will use this sheet many times for main card embellishment and for gift cards using some of the sentiments supplied and also for Mother’s Day Valentines’ Day, Get well, Sympathy, Bon Voyage and Thinking of you.
