Freddy the Magical Snowman Advent CalenderCompleted by Charlies Angel
OccasionI printed this sheet twice, once onto good quality cardstock and once onto heavyweight glossy photo paper. I cut the base picture from the card and the windows side from photo paper. I used a craft knife to cut the windows on the 3 sides needed for them to open.
I scored the other side of each window with an embossing tool (you could also used a biro that has run out of ink!).
I punched holes in each window using a small hole punch and attached small metallic coloured brads to create a 'handle'.
I attached thin strong double sided tape to the back of the windows to the spaces between them making it stronger so that when opening the windows they won't tear.
I added glitter snowflakes to both the base picture and window sheet. Before sticking the 2 sheets together I slightly turned each brad so that the windows shut. When opening them you can either slightly turn the brad or just open - either way work.
You could also place a chocolate button in each 'door'. I then stuck both parts together. I punched 2 holes in the top and threaded ribbon through. I covered the knots with ribbon bows that I attached snowflake embellishments to. I added glitter to these and allowed to dry.
A great way of giving a special child a very personal advent calendar.
