I printed the card onto good quality white cardstock then trimmed off the white border areas and scored to the dimensions required to make a box lid. I cut into each corner and stuck the flaps in place inside the box using Template Tape. As this is quite large I used 350gsm heavyweight white cardstock for the base, making the sheet slightly smaller than the trimmed top size and scoring, cutting and sticking in the same way.

I like making boxes of the right size to fit any handmade gift I make, but don't like keeping lots of patterned cardstock in the house that may not be suitable, so having a stock of white cardstock of the maximum weight that will go through my printer and a good digital library of backgrounds means that I can print off however many I need, of whatever design I need, when I need them, with out having to go to the shop or wait for delivery from an online stockist. And it's a great way to do things as the card that goes with any gift can be matching as well.
