Cream Swirls and Oval Frame 6Completed by Margaret Swaby
OccasionI am currently making a scrapbook album of my family tree and I could immediately see the potential for this sheet. As the photos were old I wanted to use subtle colours and I felt that these worked really well.
The backing sheet is an embossed vellum in mustardy shades. I printed out the sheet onto 170gsm photo paper, which gives it a lovely sheen. I then cut out the ovals, leaving the edging on one an not on the other.
I stuck photos in the 2 oval gaps and the cut around the ovals making the pictures a little smaller to create mounts for the 2 smaller pictures. I stuck these on using foam pads to add dimension to the page. I them chose brown shabby looking self adhesive letters and numbers with which to put on the details, using the space alongside each photo.
I used narrow double sided tape around the top oval picture and stuck on some frilled lace then used gold self adhesive ribbon around the bottom frame. I added green gems ( green was her favourite colour) for embellishment. I am so pleased with the way that it has turned out that I will be buying the sheet in other colours too. It would also be great for cardmaking - a really useful sheet that I will definately use over and over again,.
