Birthday ButterflyCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Here is a very quick and easy birthday greeting card to make with options for extra decoupage. I printed the sheet twice onto the one sheet of A4 white light card.

I prepared a 17x11.5cm textured card, available from the pound shop on this site, by using a water colour marker pencil to colour my index finger point and then smudging this pink ink onto the actual floral texture of this off white card and used the same pencil to fine line edge the card on all 4 sides.

I have used a bronze textured 14x9cm backing sheet to define the edges with a black fine line permanent pen before attaching the pink ribbon across horizontally 4.5cm down from the top edge.

I cut out one of the 13x8.5cm full images and defined the edges with the same pink water colour marker before I attached this to the backing sheet using D.S. tape.

I secured the ribbon tails at the back. I have then attached the topper to the card front using padded D.S tape.

I have used all the butterflies to form the decoupage and separated the top wings of one of the largest butterflies before attaching all the butterflies using D.S. and padded D.S. tape.

I used red power tape to attach the pink bow I have made using the same ribbon. To complete the insert, I have used a dry pink colouring pencil to gently shade the edges, before attaching the backing sheet of green butterflies.

I have used a verse from the insert for Butterfly Bush Floral Insert, a design by Clare Walker, cup858724_79993 and one of the supplied butterflies.

I am so pleased with this quick make I am about to make the matching one tomorrow, thank you Kathleen for such a delightful image.
