CANDLE CANDLE BURNING BRIGHT

This classic image of the festive candles has made a charming vintage look Christmas card. I printed the sheet provided twice onto the same A4, 170gsm white satin finished card.

I used one image as the main backing sheet to carefully cut around the scalloped edges and using D.S tape and some white glue attached the element to a black backing sheet, cutting the edges to match the scalloped edges.

I used gold glitter glue to decorate the edges and set this aside to dry.

I used the second image of the main element to cut away the outer scalloped image and holly and berry leaves and attach this smaller version to a black backing sheet, cutting around the scallops and leaving intact the holly and berry leaves.

I used padded D.S tape to attach the smaller topper on top of the larger element and used the gold glitter glue to high light the candle flames.

The main card is 180gsm burgundy cut and scored at 24x12cm, a 2 toned green, 10cm square backing sheet, a green Christmas themed 9cm square backing sheet and an 8cm square gold metallic mirror finished backing sheet, attached together with D.S. tape.

I then attached the decorative red and the gold peel off strips, a red ribbon attached across the across the join of the 2 backing sheets before attaching this finished backing sheet group to the card front using D.S. tape to the main burgundy card.

I then used padded D.S. tape to attach the completed main image onto the gold backing sheet, tied a bow in matching ribbon and attached this using red power tape.

To complete the insert, I have used a natural paper, to which I have attached a smaller image of the candles and the verse I have chosen from the free Christmas selection of free verses.
