This is such a beautiful image of Santa’s face it will be a most welcome image gracing any recipient’s mantle-piece during the festive season next December.
I am preparing my cards early so I can give each one the attention they deserve and for those I need to post, making sure the distance and overseas cards due for posting comply with the postage size rules.
I made a card using cup479109_936, a design by Marijke Kok, Backgound Holly, to print on both sides at 24 x 15cm.
This design then has the red border already around all 4 sides.
I printed the sheet provided twice onto the one A4 white good quality card and used one of the copies, which measures 12.75 x9cm as the main backing sheet.
I attached the red, green and white diagonal striped ribbon, horizontally across the back of this main image, 4.5cm up from the lower edge.
I attached this using D.S. tape to the next backing sheet using D.S. tape.
I made this backing sheet using 10.5cm wide x8cm high red card to slightly overlap the green, 10.5cm wide card so that the finished measurement of this backing sheet is 13cm high x10.5cm wide.
The next white backing sheet is 14.5 x11cm. I have attached this using D.S tape and before I have attached the ribbon tails at the back. I have added the decorative dark green peel offs and the glitter gold peel off strips.
This completed section of the topper is then attached to the card front using D.S. tape. I have used the second copy of the main image to remove the background and retain the Santa to attach using D.S. padded tape.
I have used crystal glitter gel to attach using a soft small brush to embellish Santa’s fur trim, beard, moustache, pompom and the curls in his beard.
I also put tiny drops on the sparkle in Santa’s eyes using a tooth pick. I allowed this to dry over night before attaching the sentiment and the bow I have made with the matching ribbon.
To complete the insert, I have used another purchase, cup1012865_1398, a design by Ceredwyn Macrae, Robin insert with verse which I have printed at 11cm square and used a decorative green peel off as embellishments.
For the left hand side of the insert I have used a small image of the finished card with a sentiment attached underneath.
A beautiful project completed with a very pleasing outcome. Thank you Nick for offering this sheet for purchase, I am sending you a virtual hug. Pamela Horton.
