Fairytasia 01: Waterlily
This gorgeous 4ply Layette set is the first in a Series of Fantasy designs aimed for the Fairy reborn dolls you can now buy BUT it is also just as lovely for a newborn baby (only largest size fits newborn baby) .. although some ladies have also knitted this in DK and adapted the lengths to fit 0-3 mths too :)
Instructions include:
Dress .. this beautiful dress has a skirt of waterlily petals cupped in a handful leaves, with little frilly cap sleeves - it also has a detachable pair of wings (or shop bought wings would also work) to complete the Fairy style
Knickers: These simple knickers aid the Fairy's decency and modesty ;)
Headband: This gorgeous headband is decorated with a waterlily pad and full bloom flower
Blanket: Knitted in DK this lovely blanket decorated with lilypads and flowers completes the look
Size: To fit 12(14-16") chest .. approx tiny preemie to newborn or reborn dolls 15" to 20" in length
Yarn : Approx 80-150grams of green 4ply yarn for dress set (USA fingering or fine sport, AUS 4ply)
Approx 80-150 grams of white 4ply yarn (USA fingering or fine sport, AUS 4ply)
Blanket: Approx 360 grams of white Double Knit yarn (USA sport, AUS 5-8ply) with oddments of green and white 4ply for lilies and lilypads
Needle size: UK11 & 10 Knitting Needles (USA 2 & 3 - Metric 3mm & 3.25mm)
Blanket: UK7 Knitting Needles (USA7 ? Metric 4.5mm) and UK8 (USA^ - Metric 4mm) needles for lily pads and water lily flowers
Notions: Stitch Holder ? 3 x buttons for back of dress ? ribbon for dress waist & bootees, and knickers waist. Bow for blanket if you wish..
Gauge: 30 sts and 38 rows = 4? (10 cm) over St st using larger needles.
