Lisa Baglietto for Janene (30-Jul-10)

Hi Janene, I so glad that you and your husband liked it. Yes the normal buy to make cards is absolutely fine - you can sell those cards - its a problem when our cardmakers sell to others who then resell - I don't a have license for CU4CU4CU if that makes sense. Thanks for being so understanding. Lisa.

Janene (29-Jul-10)

Two things Lisa - no problem there as I have only brought your sheets to make cards - I guess that is still okay Love your Anniversary owl card for Husband I made it for our Anniversary - Hubby loved it The second question is for Lee is it possible to do any of the following your bus driver as a female bus driver, also to do a dental nurse also do an old man as a football supporter colours red Reason I asked it will make great cards for sister in law plus footballer I keep being asked at the Age Concern who I make cards for By the way your images are great lovely to look at and make fun cards

SHELLA ARMSTRONG (29-Jul-10)

FOR VAL RAMON.... WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO DO A LILAC OR PURPLE VERSION OF YOUR DESIGN cup 64484_116 and prehaps add a blank banner to put greeting on, thanks in advance, regards Shella.

Lisa Baglietto for Janene and Linda Hammond (29-Jul-10)

I am so so sorry, it has been brought to my attention that I given given you the wrong information regarding the sale of topper from my sheets - as I have licenses from some artists, these sheets would not be suitable for this purpose, so I will have to withdraw my permission as TOU can be such a grey area I would not want anybody to unknowingly violate these terms. I am so sorry for any confusion that I may have caused. Lisa.

shella armstrong (29-Jul-10)

Would like a liverpool supporter card for 13yr old grandson, to fit A5 card with decoupage and an insert to match if poss: thank you in advance, regards Shella.

Amanda McGee (cup designer) (29-Jul-10)

To Janene I must echo what Janet says and hope What a hoot is a great seller for you. Its been my best seller this month. Your support and patience with us is great. Amanda

Janet Briggs for Janene (29-Jul-10)

Thank you so much for your support for designers and CUP. At the end of the day we all need to work together to protect and respect the TOU of all the original artists. Without their art and licenses, there wouldn't be the CUP there is today, with its diversity of choice and styles, or lovely customers such as yourself, who return time and time again.

Janene (29-Jul-10)

Thankyou for all the comments I can clearly see what I can do and what I cant do Thankyou to the quick answer from Rob I have stated on all my listings that my toppers are to be sold for personal use only - I know some designers have given permission that I buyers from me can make cards and sell those cards but by adding personal on all toppers I make from downloads here I hope I can reinvoice that idea I shall continue to buy from cup as the designs are great and a lot of work is put into the designs making my work easier and I love cutting and making up the toppers as such lovely images So once again a big thankyou to everyone :)

Janet Briggs (29-Jul-10)

Hi Linda You can sell cards AND toppers made from ALL CUP sheets. (except one or two that do clearly say personal use only) What you can't do with most sheets, is sell a topper UNLESS you put it is for the buyers personal use only. Carol Clarke has given you permission to do so, as she is the artist. However, some of the other designers who are giving permission, don't actually have the right to at the moment, if they check with the graphics artist they have used. You would need to buy a license from the graphic artists, as we do. As you say, it's difficult to police, what an end user does with a product, but so long as you have protected yourself, by clearly stating what can't be done with a topper you'll be ok. Hope this helps. Janet :0)

Amanda McGee (cup designer) (29-Jul-10)

Amendment to previous post. After reading my response I should have said "I still put alot work into my sheets as do all of the designers" as we all have our own styles and skills.

Amanda McGee (cup designer) (29-Jul-10)

Linda Although I do not produce my own artwork (although I design some of my own designer resources) I still put alot of work into my sheets as do alot of the designers. I have not said that toppers cant be made and sold I just concurr with the opinions of many of my fellow designers that if listing on ebay etc then in many cases it should state for customers personal use. If you read the posts in the forums you will see that we all have advised that Janene can use for this purpose. I have to reitterate that this rule is not of our making we are just respecting the tou laid down by the graphics companies.

Linda Hammond to all (29-Jul-10)

Probably then this is an indication that we should be using and supporting and giving more credit to the people who produce there own art work, as what they say goes.Lee, Carole and Heather (famous for her own teddies,) all have been kind enough to come through and voice there feelings .That is good enough for me. Many thanks to all for responding, all points noted.

Amanda McGee (cup designer) (28-Jul-10)

For Linda and Janene Linda, myself and other designers (I cant speak for everyone but will speak for myself) I dont have a problem with you selling toppers (or Janene selling them). The only problem is certain graphics suppliers do not allow items to be sold by our customers for their customer to then sell. For example with Nit Wits, allowed is myself making the sheet, you buying the sheet and making a topper or a card, if you sell the topper then you must stipulate that the topper is for personal use only ie for someone to make a card for family or friends. Please see the thread in the forum. I must reiterate what Sue says in the forum that we have to abide by these rules or we may use the right to use the graphics, its not our rules I'm afraid. I stress that in the most cases its not a problem to sell your toppers even for commercial use by your customer but just certain graphics that there are restrictions. Hope this clear

Steve Ingram for Janene (28-Jul-10)

Some time ago somebody was selling toppers from my designs on ebay. I asked Rob Jackson the owner of CUP was this OK he took a look and said this was fine as long as something had been made and not the downloaded sheet they purchased was for sale not a problem. Hope this helps. Steve

Lisa Baglietto for Janene and Linda Hammond (28-Jul-10)

Hi, I don't do that many sheets that I think would be suitable as toppers, but if any are, once you have bought the sheet you can do whatever you want with it apart from resell the sheet as is. As long as you have made something new from it, then you are free to sell any of mine as cards or toppers : )

Linda Hammond for Carole Clarke. (28-Jul-10)

Thanks Carole, I expect everyone will come along and say if they object Do you know I asked Cheryl Seslar if i was okay to sell a few as toppers and she said as long as you have my handmade liscense you can make and sell whatever you want, I already have this. thank goodness lol thanks again .

heather howes repl to janine and linda (28-Jul-10)

Hi there ,this discussion is on the forum too and I have no problem with my topper sheets being made up and sold as toppers..and Linda is right there is no way of policing this,my customers have the right to sell the finished product from my sheets ,the same as Carol,so check with your favourite designers on this issue before buying xhetty

Janene (28-Jul-10)

Thankyou for all your input I can appreciate people putting a lot of work into designs plus buying licences and I appreciate all that I would never think of selling the decoupage as a sheet as that is not fair to the designer nor is it fair if I share as that is taking money away from the designer I use my spare time to reach a market where buyers want the toppers just to make cards for themselves or for family etc Ido not sell in vast quantities so I dont think my buyers are buying so they can sell on it would be pointless for them to do that as they can buy the download themself and make the cards therefore saving themself money I do not mind putting for personal use on my listings

Carol Clarke - reply for Linda Hammond and Janene (28-Jul-10)

Hi, I don't have a problem with my designs being made into toppers (or whatever ....... just so long as you personally make something with them!) and then being sold for personal or commercial use. Kind Regards, Carol

Linda Hammond for all (28-Jul-10)

I find this very interesting about about some saying saying no to toppers.I have always sold as cards and toppers and never come across a no before. The majority of my customers are people who either do not cut out as old arthritic, cant see cant be bothered or do not use a computor,so you would not get there trade,If i did not sell as toppers you would not get money from me either expect the message here is stick to the ones that dont mind and put personal use only.It does not make a lot of difference what opinions are as you cant police this It is just too big! I know some folks that not only sell as toppers but they sell the sheets as well .If I like and know the artist whoose sheets are being sold I report to them So it works both ways I never copy and sell sheets as I can make my own sheets anyway if i can be bothered too. Just in case you think you have covered everything,There are also those who buy decoupage cards finished and then the buyer sells them on at a more expensive price.Hope this does not offend just being straight.

Linda Hammond for Lee. (28-Jul-10)

Hi Lee, Last messege, then will leave you in peace. Is there any chance of some multi use backgrounds for the doodles?A garden one, white picket fence lawn blue sky and flowers in many colours so I could use with all the doodles with flowers and barrow doodles .Baloon background for birthdays An inside one for sick doodles, also one for cowboy and pirate sure you get the drift Sold seperate so you can just add if you want to? Dont underestimate yourself both of you really good Thanks Linda

Lee Jacobs for Janene (28-Jul-10)

Firstly well put amy, and really not much to add either. As long as you make the decoupaged elements up first then i for one have no worries but it must be for personal use when bought at fairs. Hope this helps from me regards Lee

Lee Jacobs for Linda (28-Jul-10)

Thankyou again for your kind words linda, yes i have seen the stamps before, I leave the mouths for the card makers to add if they wish as they can lend themselves to many occasions be it happy or sad. This way i feel the crafter gets the most benefit from the sheets. LOL thanks for putting me in the same league as gordon he is the drawing guru and as yet im still not worthy to be in his presence lol take care linda Kind regards Lee

Linda Hammond for Lee (28-Jul-10)

Hi Lee, I have sat looking at your art on here many times. The only thing I was not sure about was that the images did not appear to have a mouth.Have you seen Magnolia Tilda designs, they also have no mouth.I thought you might like to see them,if you put search in for them on ebay, you will know what I am talking about. They are so popular by someone called magnolia liscious, so fabulous even signed up for colouring classes as I would also like to buy yours as digtial stamps, thought anyone could colour and shade,WRONG!How I wish I was a clever as you and Gordon!they are so nice and easy to cut out I only have to look at them and they make me smile .Refreshing change to see things through the eyes of a bloke at times.MANY THANKS Linda

Amy Cummings for Janene (28-Jul-10)

Hi Janene, in the Terms and Conditions it states "You may sell any item you make using these craft sheets but you MUST NOT sell the craft sheet itself" I would interpret any item to include topper personally and would have no issue in you doing this. To adhere with some graphics providers though you would need to state that these could only be used for personal use. Lee Jacobs draws his own work so hopefully he will be along to answer you soon :^)

Astrid Spijkers (28-Jul-10)

For Janene, your 'selling toppers' question: I have to say it's a no. The 'rules' on all our sheets are to make your own cards, boxes etc and you can sell those, not make up the toppers and sell those for others to create cards with which they can sell then. You need to make the cards yourself to sell.

Janene (28-Jul-10)

Hi I make toppers from your sheets ( means I cut them out and put together with sticky pads sometimes adding peeloffs or gems) as I dont want to upset anyone I wondered if I could sell these I do not sell the sheet in its original form neither do download this sheet for anyone do not mind putting this topper is for personal use as that gets around the licence that some of you designers have brought This queston is manly for Sande Burchell, Karen Adair, Lee Jacobs, Gordon Fraser and Sharon Poole Thankyou for everyone else who has answered me on the forum

Lee Jacobs for Linda (27-Jul-10)

Hi Linda thankyou for your message, Firstly thank you for your compliments as a designer it is always good to hear from the people buying your sheets and as for molly doodle, Molly is the name ive taken from our border collie and yep I do draw all my sheets too, Hope you have fun making them up as much as I love drawing them Many thanks linda Lee

For Ann.....I have a pyramid version of the Australian Gumleaf Christmas Tree waiting on validation. Hope that is what you need. Rebecca Brindley reply for Alex Charlesworth (22-Jul-10)

Hi Alex, for large flat gems I use glue dots and for tiny flat gems I use 151 glue applied with a cocktail stick, for large round beads I use silicone glue and for seed beads I use double sided tape for full coverage :)Hope this helps.

GORDON FRASER (22-Jul-10)

FAO Debbie Knechtel, Hi Debbie, sorry for the delay in answering, had a very intense week. I'll be as quick as I can with your designs!

Ann (21-Jul-10)

To Vicki Avcin No great rush have been poorly so a bit slow and just starting Christmas but love the Aussie themed ones (sorry but can't relate to Nth Hem with snow as I have never seen it)and as you know our temps are 30 plus then. I certainly do favour pyramids now. Thank you again Ann

Vicki Avcin (21-Jul-10)

For Ann (21/7) I can make it into a pyramid for you no worries. Can you just give me a couple of days to get it up. I'm just finishing backing up things to transfer over to a new PC so will only have the laptop which doesn't have my graphic programs on it. I'll do it as soon as possible though. And thanks for purchasing the others. More in the Aussie line to come yet too!! Keep watching. Cheers

Mary Johnston (21-Jul-10)
