there's so much that I I could say to you if we could meet face to face
but this year has been difficult in so very many cruel ways
it's cut us off from the friends who could lend a supporting word
I was so sorry you lost your husband and wanted to hug you when I heard
but until we're able to meet again and look back upon these years
we'll save up all our feelings and then chat and hold back the tears

Distance is not a Barrier

Now that I have moved so far away,
And scrolling the web to find a place to stay
Is difficult and the distance travel is out of the question,
I miss seeing and hearing you and our many discussions.
It is a fact that technology is so much of our day,
The young generation pick it up in a minute,
And often forget to hear what we say.
At least with letter writing we can read about our friend's day,
And use the some what reliable source of the hand set phone,
And this makes us feel that you and I are not home alone.

Often when distance, not to mention age,
And the many afflictions we gain with that,
It is difficult to simply pop in for an easy chat,
We remember the comfort of the knowledge,
Of how we can use the reliable source of postage,
And use peel off stamps and snail mail to pay our bills.
And turn instead to letter writing to dear friends and family,
We think of you often, and hope all is well,
And have used our life long skills,
To post this hand-made card today
With the hope the little thoughts inside,
Will make you smile and help you enjoy a very cheery day.
