Nature has a special gift,
To show to us each day,
We don't need to spend a fortune,
To cheer us on our way,
All we need to do is look around,
Flowers abound in every hue,
In gardens and hedgerows,
They are there for us to view,
How delicate in their beauty,
Their perfume, their petals grow,
A treasure trove of nature,
That surround us as we go.

Your garden is your pride and joy,
As you watch your flowers bloom,
As you sit out in the evening,
As you smell their sweet perfume,
For the toil and sweat of making your garden good,
Makes a perfect day for you,
And as today is your birthday,
May you sit back and enjoy the view!

I have a little present,
Wrapped up with a tiny bow,
I have some pretty flowers,
That in the garden did grow,
But although I can't be with you,
To place them in your hand,
They're here upon this beautiful card,
That with all my love I send.

As I look at my garden
It is changing before my eyes
Buds are bursting, flowers are opening
As the clouds lift from the skies

The sun is warming all the earth
And birds begin to nest
Life feels full of expectation
As Spring gardens look their best

Now that it is Summer
And all my flowers are in bloom
Like you I like to fill my home
With flowers in every room

The bulbs have started peeking
From their darkened beds
Soon they will be showing
Their beautiful coloured heads

The daffoldils and tulips
Hyacinth and crocus too
Will make my colourful garden
Into a wonderful view

A special person deserves a special treat
Flowers are a way of saying

That person is you for all that you do

The Story of a Flower
One tiny little flower which started off in Spring
Just blossomed in the Summer when the chicks began to sing
It drops its head in Autumn when the ground gets hard and cold
But the seeds they thrive in Winter again waiting for the Spring.

Where have all the flowers gone
The garden looks so drab
If it was a painting
I'd give it a little dab
Of yellow, pink and red
To brighten up the scene
But of course it's Winter time
Only a few flowers can be seen
But very soon the Spring will come
Bright sun and light warm rain
Then the garden will radiate colour
And the flowers will be out again

Where have all the flowers gone?
My garden looked so pretty
I guess they are sleeping 'til the Spring
Isn't it a pity!

A colourful butterfly flew past me
So pretty as it flew by
It went from flower to flower
Barely touching, as soft as a sigh

I've picked you a bunch of flowers
Pink, red, yellow and blue
They are to celebrate our birthday
I picked them especailly for you

I would love to give you flowers
Hand picked from my garden bed
I have spent hours and hours tending them
But not one has reared its head

So, as a result
What I have done
I've made you a card
It's a flowery one

I send you a colourful bouquet of flowers
Of Sweet Williams, Lavender and Roses
All of these flowers have perfumes so sweet
Which I hope you'll enjoy for hours

We love the flowers that bloom in the Spring
Daffodils, Tulips and Heather
Snowdrops and Primroses also grow
But it does depend on the weather

In March we get the wind and rain
In April we get light showers
Thank Goodness that we get all that
To fill my summer garden with flowers

I love to work in the garden
I know you love it too
We weed and sow and plant our bulbs
Just like other gardeners do

When the summer comes around
Our gardens are full of colour
We can sit and enjoy the work we have done
And have time to talk to each other

Oh how I hate gardening
But it has to be done
Tugging at weeds
It's a battle to be won

I do love my garden
Sitting in the sun
Seeing the flowers
It was a good job done

Flowers in the garden are Mother Nature's beauty
All different colours, shapes & sizes
Birds & Bees love them, as do we
To be appreciated and admired in all seasons
