The open road,
Now does beckon,
As here endeth,
Your driving lessons,
Behind the wheel,
You are to go,
As you merge perfectly,
Into the traffic flow,
The L plates finally,
Are in the bin,
As you take the car out,
On your own for a spin.

Hurray you've finally done it,
You've passed your test at last,
You stuck with it and focused,
Those L plates are a thing of the past,
So enjoy your taste of freedom,
Respect the open road,
And one thing you can be sure of,
You know your highway code!

You can throw away the L plates,
No more studying the Highway Code,
It's time to put your foot down,
It's time to hit the road,
You're an independent driver,
You've passed the test at last,
So go out and get behind that wheel,
Drive off and have a blast!
