a friend you have memories with all through the years
You never leave my side,
A constant companion you make,
Rain, shine, snow or wind,
A walk with you I'll take.
You never ask for much,
Just breakfast, dinner and a walk,
Much fuss I make of you each day,
If only you could talk! He chases rabbits through fields,
Squirrels up trees,
And cats through garden gates,
My four legged friend throws himself into life,
With a gusto that never ends,
He has a long waggly tail,
A cold, wet nose,
And a bounce that just never ends,
He's the love of my life,
Companion and friend,
And with him days turn out just right! He's there when I wake in the morning,
He's there when I sleep at night,
My faithful, companion dog,
With him days are so bright,
His eyes speak words of wisdom,
His tail tells of much joy,
For a day is never fulfilled,

And if ever there were a contest,
My heart she'd always win,
All she asks for is a walk each day,
A bit to eat,
A pat upon her head,
For my faithful friend is Meg my dog,
And I'll love her til the end!

A cold wet nose,

My little dog has all of those,
And that is just so right,

My dog would seem rather sad,
Totally without his spark.
He's the one I snuggle up to,
He's my companion come what may,
My life would be pretty boring if I didn't walk him every day,
A house is not until a dog has come to stay,
For me I certainly wouldn't want it any other way! He always listens to me,
With ears pricked up tight,
He is always there beside me,
When I go to sleep at night,
He doesn't mind if I'm grumpy,
Of if I come home late,
He'll always run and greet me,
As if I'm his long lost mate,
He'll make me feel important,
He'll cheer me up no end,
He's my faithful, true companion,
My forever, dependable friend. He looked at me,
I looked at him,
I knew at one he was mine,
I brought him home, my rescue dog,
From now on he'll be fine,
We'll go for walks together,
We'll snuggle up real tight,
I'll even scratch behind his ears,
Before he sleeps at night,
No more he'll go aroaming,
Without a nice warm bed,
He'll have a brand new caring home,
And always be well fed. He's Faithful and True,

As the busy day ends,
We go walking up mountains,
We go walking through trees,
A more loyal friend there never will be,
He's my constant companion,

that nothing can quench,
the pain of parting is such a big wrench.
Time is a healer or so they say,
but i know thats hard to believe today.
But maybe in time when the pain eases back, a set of tiny paws will creep in through a crack, and into your life to help lessen the pain and help you to love a dog again. Thank God for our four legged friends,
