Stitching with beads

I prepared the 12cm square white card for the completed project using 120gsm matte CB matte card, by pricking the sheet accurately and noting how many of the lines cross over and intersect.
I have stitched this design by Emy, in polyester threads in the shades of aqua, coral pink and shell pink, and the beads I have used are in the same colours, with some shades darker, and some to reflect the shades in the floral centre.
The aqua stitching is the most prominent, so I have used the other shades to intertwine in and around the aqua.
In these cases I slid the coral thread which I used for the stitching of the star shape and all stitching above this star in underneath, and then over the top of the aqua stitching.
The shell pink thread I used for the 2 curves under the star shape. By using the stitch lengths as recommended on the sheet, it has resulted in a perfect finish. To complete the beading I used 5 silver 8mm rice beads which I coloured using a dark aqua pen.
They did not sit quite as per the pattern, so I will use the 5mm rice beads next time. I then stitched the 6 tiny pearl finished irregular shaped pink seed beads into the circle. To complete the larger circle I used 56 tiny pink glass seed beads.
I used the shell pink thread to stitch all the pink beads, and the aqua thread to stitch the rice beads and also the plastic iridescent three butterfly beads.
I used a fine line black permanent pen to draw the feelers. I completed making up the rest of the card before adding the decoupage.
I used a permanent shell pink permanent pen to define the outside edges of the main image and used D.S. tape to attach it to a pale pink backing sheet which measures 13 x 13cm.
I printed a white gloss card with a smudgy pink print onto both sides and used this as the main card which I then cut at 27.5 x 14 cm and scored and folded it in half before attaching the pink backing sheet using D.S. tape.
