Ed030 Mandala 3
Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
This mandala by Emy, is a little more challenging than I anticipated, but I really am pleased with the outcome of the project.
I have used metallic threads to complete the pattern.
I worked from the inside shapes first using a variegated silver blue pink thread, then in turn as the shapes became larger changed to copper, plum, burgundy and for the largest shape, I have used the plum and the copper together as a double thread.
I have used 40 of the 3mm round pearls, and 96 of the 7mm silver metallic rice beads. I copied the sheet provided onto a 14.75cm square white card and rounded the corners before beginning the project.
I have backed the finished work with a plain white backing sheet, cut at 14x14cm. I have mounted this onto a holograph metal finished backing sheet, and then onto the card front which is a harlequin pint in paler shades than the threads I have used silver and burgundy ribbons as embellishments on the card front and have added a silver bow.
Thank you Emy I really enjoyed the challenge. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
