Ed042 Floral 2
Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
I have tried something quite different using this delightful and easy to complete design of flowers in a border design.
I have copied the design onto a layer of pale pink vellum over the top of a white card.
I held the 2 backing sheets together with small bull dog clips as I worked to complete the project to avoid any movement.
I found it easy to see the design through the vellum, so next time I will eliminate the need to copy the design onto both sheets.
I have used a pale purple plum shade and a deep bright green shade in single metallic threads to complete the flowers and leaves and a bright metallic gold for the flower centres.
I have used 16 small green glass seed beads, 8 small pink glass seed beads and 2 silver metallic rice beads which I have coloured using a permanent dark pink pen.
I have used a butterfly image in the same tones, which is from a bonus free item, to attach under the vellum directly onto the white card using a mini dot glue roller pen and then used these glue dots to attach the underside vellum corners of the finished 16x14.5cm trimmed project.
I then used the same pink permanent pen to define the edges of the topper, before attaching it, to a matching pink textured 16.5x 15cm card front.
I have added the gold butterfly peel off decorative strip as an embellishment to all 4 edges of the pink vellum.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is a gold peel off strip, which I have coloured using the same pen, before attaching it to a 4.5 x 2.25 cm card cut from the same pink textured card.
I am delighted with the outcome of this project using this beautiful quick and easy design. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
