Ed028 Christmasbauble
Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
This Christmas Bauble, by Emy van Schaik is another one of the purchases I made last year but as it was not a Gold Star, I had not displayed it and since then it went in the post.
I am so lucky that Emy had offered the sheet as a gold star last month and I was able to purchase it and have been even more delighted than last time, with the colours, background and choice of beads I have made in completing this greeting card.
I completed the stitching first and I have used all metallic threads. The gold threads I have used are a rose gold, a yellow gold and a twisted gold.
The green metallic thread is a bright pale green and suits the delicate background sheet I have used which is a gold star sheet I purchased last month, Holly Paper,cup735376_16808, a design by Eliza Brown .
I have also used this sheet for the insert section of the card. I have used 13 gold metallic 0.5mm rice beads, 40 tiny gold glass seed beads, 1 red metallic tiny round bead and one tear drop 1cm long red pearl.
The decoupage is attached using padded D.S. tape, and is from a free sheet I had received some time ago, Poinsettia Script, cup358839_65, a beautiful design, too beautiful really for Chris Wells West to offer as a free sheet.
The background sheet is cut at 15 x 12cm and is attached to red backing sheet cut at 16 x 13 cm, using D.S. tape.
I then used a single punch to make a hole in the top of the bauble to thread a narrow white satin ribbon through to complete the effect of the Christmas Bauble design.
The card front measures 17.5 x 14 cm , when scored and folded, and I defined the edges with a very fine line using a green pen.
I have highlighted the centre of the poinsettia decoupage with glitter gold dust.
I have added gold peel off strips and large gold corners to embellish the finished card front and then used a strip of left over Holly Paper to back with a piece of white card cut at 7cm x 1.5cm to attach to the centre of the lower edge of the front to which I add the red peel off sentiment.
To complete the insert I used a copy of the photograph of the completed card front onto the left hand side and the verse I have chosen from the free verse Christmas section for friends, which I have printed onto the holly Paper.
I added a circle of peel off stars, and left space on the left hand side for my personal message.
It is absolutely wonderful and so pleasing to the pocket to be able to use all the resources I have gained since joining Crafty Bob.
Thank you to Emy, Chris and Eliza, and craftsuprint for your designs, I will always be able to choose from my growing list of wonderful resources.
