Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
My finished card front measures 7’x5 ½”, and I have incorporated 3 different purchases to complete this stitching design.
I have used single strand embroidery floss in 3 shades of pink, to complete the stitching design and have used 44 tiny seed beads in a variety of pink shades and sizes, 7 pale pink metallic sequins and 6 silver 8mm metallic rice beads to complete the stitching design by following the directions on the sheet.
I copied the design onto a white 120gsm craft card cut at 15 x 11.5cm, and completed the stitching before attaching the beads.
I defined the edge of the white card with a pink metallic liquid pen and made a 14 x 10.5cm backing sheet in copy paper to attach to the back of the completed work to secure the stitching using wide D.S. tape.
I have used a small image from a design by Deloris Thiede, cup942588_74027 and cutting it down to 6.5cm square, defining the edges with a hot pink permanent pen and then backed it with a pearl finished silver backing sheet 7x7cm and attached this small topper in place in the centre lower half of the stitched main topper.
I used a pale pink white spot backing sheet cut at 16x 12.5cm to attach using D.S. tape. I then added the silver decorative peel off strips before attaching the hot pink white spotty ribbon and bow to wrap around and secure at the back of the work.
The main card is made from a double sided print of a design by Karen Wyeth, cup411825_1056, Cute pink hearts backing sheet, onto a white 200gsm Crafty Bob Matte Photo paper.
I have slightly changed the colour to tone in with the pink theme of the main stitching. I have added the butterfly as an embellishment. The insert has a small image of the girl and dog, a butterfly and a simple sentiment.
This is a design so simple and yet intricate, with very easy to follow instructions and with such versatile use as a greeting card embellishment.
Thank you Emy, I love this design. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
