Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
I have chosen to use rose pink through to the pale pink and violet through to the pale mauve hues in the stitching the beading and the backing sheets to create this beautiful card.
I completed all the stitching using a single thread of embroidery floss, before I attached any beads. I have used the deep rose pink for the pink frame and the fan shapes on the corners and mid lines.
The pale mauve I have used for the corner flower shapes and the violet thread I have used for the flower circular star shaped centres.
I have chosen a variety of beads to use, and in total I have used 108 beads. In the central scalloped shaped frame, I have used 56 tiny pink centred blue glass beads and used the violet embroidery thread to attach them.
The 4 spacer marked areas I have used a rose shaped jewelled centre glass bead.
To complete each of the beautifully designed floral corners, I have attached 4 kite shaped mauve glass beads, each with 3 jewels, using the violet coloured embroidery floss.
To complete the border area beads I have used 2 sizes of iridescent metallic rice beads and attached a tiny pink centred blue seed glass bead to each one.
The corner shapes each have 2 of the 6mm rice beads and the mid line each have 2 of the 8mm rice beads.
I have used a mauve metallic pen to define the edges of the 14.5cm square white matte card front and after using red power tape to secure the back of the beading and stitching, I used 2 lengths of lace overlaid with a violet satin ribbon and attached this to the 15.5cm square, rose pink backing sheet using padded D.S. tape.
I defined the edge of this rose pink backing sheet with the same mauve pen. I then used regular D.S. tape to attach this topper to the next 16cm square pale pink backing sheet.
I wrapped the ribbon and lace around to the back and secured it with red power tape before attaching it to the even paler pink main card front using padded D.S. tape.
The orchid and sentiment embellishments are from cup884277_79993, a design by Clare Walker, the colours of which I have slightly modified to be in the mauve tones.
The bow I have attached using red power tape.
To complete the insert I have used the design cup884282_79993, Orchids insert 2 pages and verse, a design by Clare Walker, which is absolutely perfect for the completion of this stitching design.
I have a permanent home for this card, so I am extremely pleased with my achievement. This is a very easy stitching design with clear instructions, with the versatility to suit so many occasions, even Christmas.
Thank you Emy, I will use this many times. Pamela Horton. The whispering Platypus.
