Stitching with beads

A beautifully designed stitching pattern for any bead enthusiast to want to try. It did take me 2 nights to eventually finish this pattern. However just look at the result. I intend to repeat this with other colour combinations, as I am now totally hooked on beading as an addition on my cards.
I used 10 pearl finished, mauve, rice beads.10 clear, rainbow finished rice beads. 77 mauve seed beads, which have a blue outer shell, and I used a dark blue metallic thread for the stitching. The card is 200sm matt, 14x 14cm.
I first printed the sheet onto a card, cut it to 15x15cm and used small bull dog clips to hold this as a pattern on top of the actual stitching card 14x14cm. I used a fine pointed tool to poke the holes as per the pattern. As the pattern was a bigger sheet, I measured up for the lowest sewn leaf to be almost 1.5 cm up from the bottom of the pattern sheet, and the right hand seed bead flower 1cm in from the edge of the pattern sheet. I completed the stitching before I added the beads. I used short threads to sew and used a bees wax conditioner to ensure the thread did not twist or tangle while working. ( A tea light plain candle will do as well
HINT: It helps tremendously to wet the eye of the needle and not the thread while threading the needle, as wetting the end of the thread makes it fray, and to ensure the point of the needle stays sharp and does not burr with pushing it into the card to gently rub the point in your hair. ( This is a nappy pin point, sharpener, trick from years ago.}
The pansies I drew in pencil onto a separate piece of card, and used alcohol based pens to colour them in. I drew the leaves & stalk in pencil directly onto the card and used alcohol based pens to colour them, I cut out the pansies, & used padded double sided tape to layer the pansies onto the topper. I then used double sided regular tape to attach the completed topper to a multi- coloured, blue and purple backing sheet, 15 x 15cm, off setting it more to left to have the embroidered fan more to the centre as the feature. The final backing sheet is a deep purple 15.5x15.5cm,, and this was then attached to a white card, 30.75x15.75cm,folded into a square. I used the same multi - coloured backing sheet, and one extra pansy as a bling for the insert.
Thank you, Emy, for this absolutely delightful pattern, it has made a stunning card.
I hope you like the result. A big Hug
