I have designed a variation on the normal penny slider.
Fix the slider element onto the card using foam pads right at the edge of the cirle and in the centre of the circle. Further instructions on the sheet. More of this style to follow

I mounted the football pitch backing onto a card blank, then assembled the slider mechanism, making sure the football moved around easily before fixing onto the card.
I then added the football shirt topper in the correct colours and to finish I added some relevant football words using stickers.
