Lace Butterfly Shaped Card (magenta-black)
This is one of my many butterflies designs which I turned into a shaped card. The ready card is quite large so you have enough of space to add some peel-offs, gems etc.
Also some glitter can add that little extra touch to your card! ;-) Another great thing about the large sizes of this card is that you can use only one part of it and use it as a card front or card topper to create another card or better say create 2 cards from just one print !
The card can be used for almost any occasion.

I decided to use this design as a topper rather than a shaped card. I printed the butterfly on to glossy photo paper and cut it out as two separate images.
I used the whole of the first image but only the body and the central wings of the second to give a better 3d effect.
I made up the butterfly using silicone gel. I used white card patterned with silver butterflies as a base and covered just under half with a darker patterend silver paper.
I then added three lines of ribbon across the card - pink organza across the join bordered by deep purple above and below.
I then mounted the butterfly at an angle to the right hand side of the card. I drew in the antennae with a black pen and used tiny black gems at the end.
I mounted a small piece of silver card onto the silver backing paper and placed it at an angle across the top left hand corner.
The two bottom corner peel offs were coloured with purple, pink and black marker pens . Although I used a black "Best Wishes" sentiment this card could be used for a number of different occasions. All in all a very elegant and versatile design.
