I like to always keep on hand a Sympathy greeting card and this one by Ceredwyn, is such a universal and sensitive design complete with a lovely comforting verse.
I have stayed with the blue tones but added a peach backing sheet.
I have printed the sheet provided twice on to an A4 sheet, which has given me 2 copies and the ability to complete the card front with some extra elements and so forming a decoupage effect.
The main powder blue card measures 23 x 15cm and I have scored and folded it.
I have attached the blue satin ribbon and lace together over the front of the 13.5 x 9.5 cm dark blue backing sheet and then attached the 14.5 x 10.5cm peach backing sheet to the back of the blue backing sheet using D.S. tape and secured the lace and ribbon at the back of the peach backing sheet.
I have then matted these to the card front before attaching the main image using D.S. tape. I have added the silver blue peel off strips onto the peach backing sheet.
I have used the second copy to cut out the dove the cross and part of the main floral bouquet.
I have used padded tiny D.S. squares to attach these smaller elements.
To complete the insert I have used one copy of the insert which was provided and used a silver metallic pen to define the front and inside edges of the main card and the outer edges of the insert element.
I have added a blue star to the cross on the front. I now know I will not need to have to hurry to make a card when and if the situation arises.
Thank you Ceredwyn, this has made into a very beautiful and sensitively thought out Sympathy card, and I have been able to keep the second copy of the verse for any future use.
