Butterfly Valley Gatefold Pop Up Card
A pop up gatefold card suitable for a wide variety of occasions, featuring 3d butterflies in front of a field of flowers. Lovely for birthday, thank you, sorry etc. Optional sentiment tag, reads Happy Birthday.
This is a different variation on the pop up cards I've seen before. It is very quick and simple to make.
For best results, print onto photo paper, then stick the gatefold image onto card at the point outlined in the instructions below.
With a craft knife, cut along the 4 pop up tab lines.
Score between the tag shape panels and fold the 2 outer flaps inward to close the card. At the same time, ease the 2 pop up tabs forward, as a mountain fold, so they fold inside the card.
Stick on card, avoiding sticking the tabs down, cut out and fold closed again to get clean creases.
Then simply attach the additional images and decoupage layers to the part of the pop up tabs that face forwards, when the card is open. Simples! ;0) (Hopefully)

Printed on matte photo paper. I used spray adhesive to cover a white card with a pretty paper, then rounded all the corners. I cut out and assembled the card per the instructions (and yes, it was easy :-), but glued ribbon between the paper layers on the front panels.
I made antennae for the butterflies with craft wire and taped them down to the undersides of the bodies. Backed the sentiment with the same paper as the card and glued it to the front on the left panel only, then tied the card closed.
This is an absolutely delightful card, not at all difficult to make, and your recipient will LOVE it!
