This gorgeous kit was printed out on to good quality super smooth card. The elements were then cut and assembled. I decoupaged some of the layers, shaping and attaching them using pinflair glue. Some purple felt ribbon was then added along the lower edge.
There are so many elements to this kit and all very pretty.
I have been trying to find the time to complete a Family Tree for many years now and never gotten around to it - so when I spotted this journal kit - I just had to make one.
While it is more condensed than the one I envisaged, I know it's a start in the right direction and one that I will get closer to finishing and having the basics documented, and I can do the in depth one in years to come.
Thanks Terri for all the wonderful journal kits - I am working through all of them and making a collection...
I printed out all the sheets to begin, and followed the very easy instructions and inked all the edges in "Rusty Bucket".
After assembling my cover and adding the embellishments to the front I used my new Cameo Silouette to cut out the word "Family" which I adhered with wet glue - I covered the covers of the journal in my homemade version of Modge Podge to make it more durable.
Then used a Khaki colour crochet cotton to make my binding - I found it offered a lot more colour choices for all the various journals I am making.
Then added my pages - as per the instructions.
I also used the Silouette Cameo to make other wordlets like "Our Family" to add to the page before the tree and "Together" later in the album, and various shapes.
After making a paper bag album from scratch earlier in the year - I found this journal a breeze to make and less complicated since Terri has done all the hard work for you.
Why not make one or more today.
