An iris folding pattern of a sea shell.
A simple pattern which is suitable for those who are new to iris folding, as well as those with experience.

The sheet was printed onto 120 grm paper. The A6 shell was cut out, traced and then cut out of a pink C6 card. Backgrounds were created, printed, cut into strips and folded in half lengthways.
Placing the cut out area of the card over the pattern, back facing up, it was secured with masking tape.
Creating a pattern with the strips they were applied with sellotape and trimmed. A piece of pink card was cut and matted over the strips to cover the working. Turning the card face up, silver peel-off corners and sentiment were added.
Finally, a toning gem was placed at the bottom center of the shell securing it with silicon. This is much easier to make than would appear and is fun to do and many variations can be created with the strips.
A lovely image which would suit many occasions.
I cut the shape out of 'Under the sea' backing paper (cup 512357_730) then made up the design using multi coloured strips.
I finished the card by printing my greeting on more of these strips and adding them at the top of the design.
In Australia a 'sea change' is when you retire and move from a bustling city life to a sleepy seaside town.
