Print out sheet on inkjet paper and cut out fish with scissors. Using chosen single piece of card larger than fish (silver foil in this case), place fish on rear, and cut out round line to make an aperture, using a scalpel craft knife.
Tape fish onto a mat and place aperture over it right side down, so that the iris-folding pattern shows. Cut strips approximately 3cm wide of your chosen filler paper and fold in half lengthwise. Always place the folded side against the line, making sure no tape or gaps show.
Start at the tail, following the numbering system, working round, cutting strips to suitable lengths and taping firmly with "magic" tape or similar, until only the centre is clear.
Fill this with a piece of holographic card. Using a 7x5" card, I embossed a design on it and matted the fish card onto embossed toning card.
I actually turned my fish to point in the opposite direction when I stuck it onto the card, with foam pads to offset the lumpiness of the paper strips.
I used peel-off borders round the edge of the aperture; gem embellishments were added at the corners; suitable peel-offs were used to make whatever type of greeting is appropriate.
